Greetings RCMBA Alumni:
My name is Johnny Dogun and I am honored to hold the position as the Alumni Chairperson of the Roberto Clemente Minority Business Association (RCMBA) during the 2009-2010 academic year. I am very excited to begin another year at the University of Pittsburgh with this incredible organization of motivated individuals. My primary goal this year is to increase the level of alumni involvement in the development of RCMBA members as well as alumni attendance at RCMBA events. RCMBA has had an impressive past and experienced a significant amount of growth as an organization throughout past years. This growth in both size and quality within RCMBA is due to all of your hard work while attending the University of Pittsburgh. It is my responsibility and privilege to work with alumni to highlight past achievements in order to provide inspiration for futures success.
As the Alumni Chair, you may consider me the liaison between the current students in the organization and yourselves. I feel that as a member of RCMBA, working and interacting with alumni creates an increased sense of pride in the organization and increases motivation among members. Through my involvement with RCMBA during the past year, I had the opportunity to interact with a small number of alumni on a regular basis. It was great to see those individuals regularly as it gave me a sense of what can be accomplished within an organization and how dreams can be achieved through hard work and dedication. Some of the moments from last year in RCMBA that resonate in my mind are when alumni spoke about how the organization helped to mold their lives and lead them on to further success in their careers. However, it would be even better to see more alumni at events such as the Meet the Members Barbeque, Thanksgiving Dinner, and various community service events. You all have a vast amount of advice and knowledge that will help develop our members into successful young professionals and we look forward to connecting with you this year to continue to advance our vision “to transform the corporate world through diversity.”
